So I was blessed by this peace and I DECIDED to share.


HAVE YOU DECIDED?


Most people are quick to say ‘I have decided’ because what they think a decision is... is an easy noncommittal task.


You think a decision is simply saying in your heart, “I will become Nigeria’s most celebrated public speaker”


No, what you’ve just done is called a WISH! Nobody gets rewarded for wishes. Broke people wish all the time... Successful people move to transmute that wish into a decision...


How? By following up with a series of IRREVERSIBLE ACTIONS.


Unless you’re backing your decision with an action... an action ignited with the 100% assumption that you will succeed, you have not decided.


So let’s go back to Kunle who decides to become the most celebrated Public Speaker in Nigeria... Kunle backs up his resolve with a series of irreversible actions...


Everyday, he watches the best speakers on YouTube to learn what he can from their performances.


He volunteers at church meetings to give opening remarks or take announcements (this was actually me).


He finds a mentor that’s prolific at public speaking and moves mountains to attend every speaking engagement to watch him perform.


He explores his creativity on ways to add value to and become trusted by this mentor.


He makes his request known that he’d like a chance to try out his theoretical knowledge and coalesce it into real world experience, at his mentor’s discretion.


He picks up a core discipline and works hard to gain competence at the craft that will form the content of his speaking presentations.


He applies to every industry-related event in town volunteering to speak for free until everyone knows his name.


He leverages social media tools to expand on the work he’s doing online. He builds an online audience, learns to create content and products.


He keeps increasing his network and servicing that network. He maintains a pleasant personality such that he stays top of mind and everyone wants to work with him.


He learns that this list is inexhaustible and keeps learning everyday.


THIS IS A DECISION, not all that weak wishful thinking.


When a person decides on an irreversible course of action by this definition, even village witches will salute.


You cannot fail.
